Checklist when moving into Assisted Living

We've provided you a checklist of things to complete before and when moving into assisted living.

Before you move in you will want to complete the following tasks:

• Start downsizing and Decluttering

• Hire Movers

• Ask Community for rules---what items are prohibited?

• Confirm all documentation is completed with Community

• Disconnection notice for utilities

• Notify all necessary parties of change of address

• Transfer all prescriptions

Items needed for Community:

Bedroom:

Furniture: Bed, 1 or 2 Nightstands, Possibly Dresser

Linens: Bedding (2 sets of sheets, blankets, pillows, comforter), Curtains

Living Room:

Furniture: Seating ( Rocker, Small Couch, Chair, etc), Small table,

Linens: Curtains, Throw blankets

Decor: Lamps, Clock, Wall Decor

Kitchen:

Furniture: Small table

Appliances: Microwave (Possibly provided), Mini Fridge (possibly provided), Coffeemaker, Kettle

Items: Dishes, Glasses, Silverware, Wooden Spoons, Spatulas, etc, Trash Can

Bathroom:

Linens: Towels

Personal: Health and Beauty Items

Items: Small Trash Can and Hairdryer

Personal Items:

Clothes: (don't forget pajamas, robe, undergarments, and bathing suit)

Shoes and Non -Skid Slippers

Medications

Cleaning Supplies:

Cleaners: Dish Soap, Window Cleaner, Bathroom Cleaner

Linens: Dish washing cloths, dusting cloths

Laundry: Laundry Basket and Laundry Detergent

Entertainment:

• Television

• Radio

• Desktop, Laptop, Tablet Computer

• Hobby Supplies

Ask the Community for any other items other residents like to bring.
